Smelly Ears

Vet confirmed yeast infection I have to give her ear drops twice a day for a week

Hard to explain the smell.. Sourish I guess? Definitely not pleasant like her paws! :)

I would suggest checking her back feet (pads) & see if they look sore/red.

Generally dogs with ear infections pass the issue back/forth from there feet,

You can dunk the feet in vinegar or spray hydrogen perioxide on them .

Dogs sweat through there feet but if hers are stinky she may have yeasty feet

Now THERE's a great tip - thank you Showdog. Something I haven't thought about before, but something, once you have it pointed out, is really quite obvious and logical.

Cheers!

ETA: A dip of the feet in Calendula Tea would probably work as well, and less (potentially) drying?

I would say alot of options would be out there ,you can use the same ear cream but for what they charge i don't think so.You can use canisten(sp) tinea cream or similar

We use Perioxide alot & never had issues ,cheap white vinegar as well.

Lets face it dog scratches, ear ,dog then chews back feet, some dogs then chew front feet & the cycle goes around & around .

From the dogs we see in grooming with yeasty ears i would say the greater majority also have yeasty feet especially the back

Yeah - I get that. It's such simple logic but something I hadn't much thought about.

Thanks :)
