BCPuppy
Tommy was a hard working, hard living Irish miner. He travelled the world working the mines, he spent many years in Australia at Laverton and Wittenoom too, eventually retiring to Perth. Jessie was a feisty silky terrier that was bought as a companion for Tommys wife, Jessie thought different and she stole his heart and became his shadow. Wherever he was she was right behind, she helped keep five grandchildren in check and taught them how to treat four legged friends. Allways up for an adventure, the car could not leave without her. She kept Tommy company when he went to the club, even having her own bowl for a (much watered down) beer, they would have their two beers and a chat and then snore away the afternoon in the chair together. Jessie was even known to sneak into church on occasion when she got bored waiting for him. Jessie turned 12 early last year and was slowing down, but then so was Tommy. The spectre of Wittenoom had caught up with him and he was told his time was short. Shortly after this news, Jessie got very sick and he was told her time was up, in June, it was with much sadness that Tommy gave her her wings. On January 1st 2012 Tommy passed away, I know that Jessie was there to welcome him with barks and kisses and perhaps even a beer to cross the bridge together. Tommy and Jessie's ashes are to be buried together in the memorial garden in the church they both attended. RIP Uncle Tommy and Jessie May the road rise up to meet you, may the wind be ever at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face and the rain fall softly on your fields. And until we meet again, may God hold you in the hollow of his hand. ~Irish Blessing
