persephone
My guess is they are much the same as other dogs .... 8 mths is a teenager stage .. he will be growing , physically and mentally .. and will look gawky for a while yet. ..and then he'll get BIG ! Bullbreedlover
As the American Bulldog is not an ANKC registered breed, and most people on DOL own ANKC registered breeds you will probably only get guesstamites as to what he will actually turn out like. Why not ask the breeder who you got him off. They should be able to help.
Dame Aussie
All the American Bulldogs I've seen have been of a good size, but like perse said your boy is a teenager. You gotta love the gangly teenager stage  Pics??!!!
Nekhbet
Is he a Johnson or a Scott? Or a combination of the two? With a breed that big he will be still growing, he'd be going through the gangles right now too. He'll fill out, give him time dogs like that need a couple of years to grow. Kirty
He doesn't look like an Am Bulldog to me. More like an Am Staff. Where did you get him?
persephone
Doesn't look like the american bulldogs I've met .....
RiverStar-Aura
I've just google imaged the American Bulldog and as I expected, Hooche does not look like what I pictured an Am. Bulldog to look like. His nose seems way too long and pointy, whereas the bulldog has a more squished in face. Regardless of his breed though, he is stunning!! :D
tlc
He is very cute, love the white socks, you have been gone from DOL for a while, how is your stafford boy going, I remember how excited you were to be finally getting him and your dad thought he was ugly, and since then you haven't posted. persephone
He's so shiny and sleek looking- and actually not very teenage/ugly :)
Jeff Jones
Definitely not an American Bulldog. Just so you know though: An American Bulldog should be done growing in height by the time it is around 12 months old and width by the time it is around 16 months old. Nekhbet
If it has AmBull papers I wager it will say 'Scott Type'. There is so much variety within the breed. Basically the Scott are the leaner, more AmStaff look to them whereas the Johnson then have the typical 'bulldog' head on them and more tankish. Then there is the 'hybrid' of the two which could look like whatever. Saying that google American Bulldog and you come up with a thousand different looking dogs.
