JulesP
A normal stock electric fence does have the potential to kill an animal that gets stuck in it. Know of a couple of horses that died this way. Also know of a child that was killed after get tangled in the fence.

Clyde
I have got post and rail all around the property. I saved bucketloads painting it myself but the fencing on it's own was about $17K. That didn't even include the gates as I had a few of them custom made by a different tradie. I still don't trust the fencing to keep the little dogs in while I'm out so they go in the dog runs for peace of mind. It was money well spent IMO, being rural I occasionally have random dogs cruise down my driveway and I am thankful that my dogs cannot get to the stray.
