Kirislin
I took a friend today to pick up his new dog, a rescue who's spent the last 3 days being transported from Qld to Vic. She's got sore inflamed skin around her eyes and rubs at them. I've bathed them in cold tea and her new owner is taking her to the vet tomorrow to get her checked out all over and no doubt the eyes will be carefully examined. We're hoping it's just irritation from her long travel but does anyone know for sure what might be going on with them? Bundyburger
If it's only recent, maybe allergies. Both my boys have pretty mucky eyes this year and they're really red. The vet says it's just allergies. One dog isn't on any treatment, the other has cortizone tablets every 2 days as he's got rashes under his armpits and gets itchy all over. pebbles
Perhaps the dog was transported in a way that there was wind through his/her enclosure and 3 days of that could result in sore eyes.
karly101
ask the vet to do a skin scraping and check for demodex mites. Otherwise allergies is possibility.

Dame Aussie
Mosley gets red swollen eyes at least once or twice a year, they go away and every vet has said it's allergies. Cold tea usually clears his up.
