luvsdogs Posted December 20, 2011 Share Posted December 20, 2011 Another thread on worming got me looking at the packet of interceptor Spectrum I bought today for my pup. He was previously on Milbemax which he has had since I've had him, first given by my vet. The last time I bought the Milbemax the vet said when his weight goes up he can then go on to interceptor Spectrum. There's not much difference between the 0.5 to 5kg milbenax & the up to 4kg interceptor but...... Looking at the dosages of milbemycin oxime & praziquantel of the both brands, there is quite a difference between the 4-11kg interceptor, which I bought today, & 5+kg of Milbemax. Milbemax - milbemycin oxime 12.5mg & praziquantel 125mg. interceptor - milbemycin oxime 5.75mg & praziquantel 57mg. I had never given it a thought when I first put my border collie onto interceptor a year or 2 ago, I think I checked with the previous supermarket wormers she was on & they were comparable in ingredients.
