kayla1
I was told by a vet today that Sentinel doesn't treat tapeworm, but according to the packaging it does. Does anyone know?
**Super_Dogs**
I don't know but I would have thought if it says it does not the box it does! Maybe contact the manufacturer? I would be interested to hear what they say.
BC Crazy
I use Sentinal on my girl. Im going to check the packet cause I was under the impression it covered tapeworm as well.
Red Fox
Sentinal and Interceptor cover tapeworm. Advocate does not though..
Tassie
Yes - I use Sentinel Spectrum as my wormer and heartwormer (they don't need h/w here - but I keep it up for mainlnad trips.) It contains the required dose of praziguantel for treating tapeworm, including hydatid tapeworm - which dogs coming back into Tasmania are required to be wormed for. cavNrott
The old Sentinel didn't cover tapeworm but Sentinel Spectrum does cover it. I think that vet needs to familiarise himself with the products he sells.
kayla1
Thanks. When I mentioned a couple of my dogs were on Sentinel she said they would need separate tapeworm treatment and sent me home with some virbac. But rechecking the package at home tapeworm is covered. Maybe she was confusing Sentinel Spectrum with the old Sentinel then .
Dame Aussie
Thanks. Maybe she was confusing Sentinel Spectrum with the old Sentinel then . Yeah, it's definitely covered, that's the main reason I use Sentinel, I'd be informing your vet that she is incorrect, other people may not check and unnecessarily give their dogs more chemicals than are needed.
