Ons
He certinly is a handsome boy, and so is your boy, well done for caring I would be really blunt when i see them and tell them you rang the pound and they said he would be pts by friday, leave it at that, the pound will be closed so they can't check to see if he made it out alive, ( not that they would bother). I have had 2 neighbours turn up at my door with their dogs they no longer wanted, as if i could take away their problem and wash their hands of them( both purebreds) Both dogs found homes thanks to my friends at "paws" :D that's what I would be telling them as well - good thinking Juice I'm so glad this boy is saved and is coming to live in the beautiful country near me
Fuzzycuddles
Paganman - yes he was very wobbly esp on his back legs when i picked him up and pretty scared :-( i wanted to take him for a little stroll before i put him in the car because he prob hadn't had one in a couple of days and to 'empty' his bladder etc before we started on the 2hrs drive back home but his legs just weren't up to it. i crouched down and patted my legs to encourage him to come for a cuddle and he came with his head bowed down then as i lifted my hand to pat his head he cowered down to the ground like he was expecting me to backhand him. I wondered if maybe his last owners had hit him. However after the ride home receiving constant pats from the girls and them saying "ohhhhhh Buster your a good boy" (LOL) he seemed to just have trust in us and hasn't reacted the same way since. I think meeting Boss and Bailey and getting some water and food helped him a bit to. He didn't run much last night mainly chewed on bones but i was surprised at how he came out of the laundry this morning, prancing about head held high full of energy. Like he didn't even have surgery yesterday. Yeah i wouldn't be telling his owners he has been saved because they will no doubt always blame Buster for his "bad" behaviour rather than realizing it was their fault for not researching the breed before purchasing and then not bothering to train/spend time with him. You know what they prob will get another dog one day, hopefully they won't get a ACD again, hopefully they'll get one more suited to their lifestyle. that first bit has me in tears that poor sweet boy im so glad he has found a loving forever home that sounds so perfect and that he has had a chance to know a loving family and meet some friends along the way what a perfect christmas story.. have to agree with not telling the owners, id honestly make them feel it but i can be a bitch like that, i too would mention how he was on the PTS list for today and hopefully they will stew on that for a while and think VERY hard before bringing another animal into their home. buster is very lucky especially at this time of year and id hate them to think that luck will come around with every animal because as we know for so many it doesnt
