Hi All,

I'm wondering if you can suggest a solution to a bit of a messy problem we have .

We have an 18mth old pure bred male Rottweiler.

He has a bit of a problem when travelling in the back of a ute ( he is tied in , and the ute has sides )

He does number 2 s regularly when we take him anywhere , i.e. he does his business in the ute.

He is house trained and has no issues in the house, and has a girlfriend Rottweiler, who has no problems in the ute.

He appears to love riding in the ute , he will jump in the back, and will hang his head out the side like all dogs do . The last issue happened recently , we took them both to the Kennels ( approx 15mins from our house ) and all was ok, we collected them a week later , and you guessed it , he did it in the ute.

Can anyone suggest any solutions , as we don’t take them for rides to the beach because it’s always a messy end, and we would love to , but it ends up with dog baths and ute washing.

Our dogs are like our children

Hi ..

Train your dogs to toilet on command :) Also train them that they automatically toilet before getting in a car .. it does help.

Anxiety is one thing which can cause this.

Are your dogs on good rubber matting or carpet, and in harnesses, so they are secure and not having to continually balance , etc?

also, please tie them so they can not hang heads over the side ..it is dangerous.

(and yes, I have dogs who travel long distances and many hours in an open ute ;)
