Recommended Posts

just thought that I would let people who are interested in varying their dogs' diets or who are like me and feed only raw, that i have come across a new raw food supplier in Canberra.

Rob Ware has started a company called Barking Fresh and he is based in Tuggeranong. The pugs tried the food this week and LOVE it - and i do have a couple of fussy eaters.

I understand that this is just a new business so if anyone is interested in seeing what Barking Fresh has to offer, here are Rob's contact details..

I coudn't see anything other than beef on the website  I don't feed beef at all but stick to chicken, roo, rabbit & lamb - basically anything which my three could bring down as prey. I thoght BARF stood for bones & raw food - are there bones in the beef, it is described as processed on the website

Trifecta just email Rob throug the web site- I am 100% sure that I saw chicken on there - Im so sure that last night I emailed him and said that I would love to try some of the chicken one, so at a guess if he doesnt have one he will soon!!! Rob is very keen to produce a product that works for the dogs - and for the owners.

i actually feed bones, so I dont worry about if there are bones crushed in it.. the value of the dog actually having to crunch and shred and tear the meat off the bone is enormous - exercises jaws, neck and shoulder muscles that they dont get to exercise any other way!!!

Yes I feed bones too! I have fed bones & raw food since 1988 upon the recommendation of a homeoepathic vet in Canberra.

If you are interested in this topic (BARF), & particularly Dr Billinghurst, you may have heard him interviewed on the radio by Heike Hahner? She has a spot on Sunday morning radio, 2CC I think. Dr Billinghurst has been a guest on two occasions now, but I will find out if there are plans to get him back again, if Canberra DOL BARF feeders are interested? :)

sounds great Trifecta! Please let us know! I loved Dr B's stuff until he sold it.... :mad I contacted Rob at Barking Fresh - if he can continue to get the interest and the orders for raw he will do a chicken one in the new year which will have bones.. So all good!! I will be using that as well as the beef!!!!!
