Chris the Rebel Wolf
A customer today told me about it and one of my coworkers had heard as well, that there's a new product out for 'everything' - fleas, wormer, heartworm. The couple I spoke to weren't sure of the name - the guy thought it was something new, the girl though it was just sentinel - and my coworker said he thought it might be 'pana' something, although his memory isn't stellar so I take that with a grain of salt. Can anybody shed any light? I'd imagine if it's brand new it's started out vet only, but I was just curious about what the product might be, what is covers, and what it uses. Any info is appreciated! Rappie
The product is called 'Panoramis' - there is a recent thread on it. It does do fleas, heartworm and intestinal worms (except tapeworm). It is a tablet, so competes with Sentinel. It's point of difference here though is that it's 'flea ingredient' is an adulticide, rather than an insect growth regulator, while Sentinel does treat for tapeworm. Rebanne
People need to be aware that it is not tested for fertility safeness, so if you might want to breed your dog, male or female, at some stage, you might want to look at using something else. IE can be fatal for dogs on ivermectin or some heartworm treatments /injections. It only does adult flea. Does not help larvae or any of the other stages of flea or environmental fleas. Does not do ticks. Does not do Immature intestinal worms and has a very low efficacy for all parasites. Also not safe to use for any breeding stock Male or female and unsafe for young puppies. Very high side effect % for vomiting on administration. Better to use Advocate.
Chris the Rebel Wolf
Thanks all. I did try a search for worming/flea products this month, but it didn't pop up, probably because those things are mentioned so often. Cheers! *dives into research*
