piperspal Posted December 12, 2011 Share Posted December 12, 2011 Just a quick question - we have recently moved to a new property (5 acres, its dog Nirvana) but there are prickles in certain areas on the block. I have noticed the dogs seem to picking them up fairly regularly, so I check thier paws every night, but is there something I can do to toughen up thier feet so they dont feel it as bad? I thought about boots But I have 4 dogs, getting leads on is enough of an exercise let alone 16 boots.... They sit and wait, but that will get to be a pain in the butt. rajacadoo Posted December 13, 2011 Share Posted December 13, 2011 One of my Basenji boys has quite soft pads, and when he went to the Chiro, (who is a greyhound man), he also recommended dipping his feet into Metho as well... pie Posted December 13, 2011 Share Posted December 13, 2011 Yes there are quite a few products out there, Mushers secret, Tuf-Foot, Pad Tough, Pad-Heal, and more. I have Pad heal but haven't really used it enough yet to comment on it. The Pad heal has these ingredients just to give you an idea: Raw Linseed Oil, Spirit of Turpentine, Pure Menhaden Oil, Balsam of Fir, Bees Wax, Oil of Virtiol Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
