Burkes Posted December 12, 2011 Share Posted December 12, 2011 Here is a dodgy photo, I'm at work so only have this one that I pulled off facebook. The dog door is on the right of the sliding door. I was cleaning so had the dogs outside and had the sliding panel in the dog access part so they couldn't use it. Otherwise you take that bit out and they come and go through the bottom half of the door. Possibly some of the best money I've spent seeing as though when the door isn't in Kenzie would like to go out every time I sit down!!! I take mine in and out each day (she doesn't get to use it while I'm at work at the moment it's just for when I'm home), and it takes a total of about 15 seconds to do that! When I eventually get a bolt put on the door so I can lock it when I'm not here she might get more use of it. No altering of the door frame except to unscrew the latch receiver from the wall to put it on the dog door and put it back when you leave. We've only had a few problems with the magnetic strip coming off but the manufacturer has been really good about replacing that free of charge. Would highly recommend them. So does it 'lock' in like a normal door latch would? they look like this (although the one I'm looking at isn't all glass) and locks into your normal doors, see the panel with the doggy bit at the bottom? mumof4girls Posted December 12, 2011 Share Posted December 12, 2011 The Bunnings ones you actually have to fit in to the wooden door which means cutting a section of it out. They don't have them in their website though as I was only just trying to find them the other day to order a replacement flap. The doors they stock are made by Petz Plus. No snook these are temporary so no cutting, you open the sliding door and the doggy door slots in, in between the door and the frame, you can step over it I guess if the opening is big enough.. I don't think you can step over it?? Mine is a full height piece of door that slots into your door track. So you can use it in the glass door in the summer or sliding door in the winter. The bottom half of the door is the dog part and the top half is glass. I would imagine that if you can step over it you may as well leave the door open? I think I probably saw that it looked like nothing there but it was probably a glass panel .. I can't find the site I first saw..
