Dogs Scared Of Santa

We had our training class tonight and down the end of the shed there were santa photos. The instructor's dog started barking when he saw Santa, so the instructor thought we could all go and socalise our dogs with Santa.

Of course Chazer went right up to Santa tail wagging for pats and attention, with his usual charm, but all the other dogs were too scared to go near him, the instructor's dog finally went up to him after watching Chazer get pats from him for a while, but the other dogs didn't want anything to do with him, and except for one they are not generally scared/timid dogs

Anyone have dogs that love/hate Santa?

I took my Troyboy to see Santa Paws at the RSPCA Christmas appeal a few yrs ago and his santa pic was pathetic because he stood like a metre away from santa lol He was terrified. Never had a problem with my female sheppys tho lol My Troyboy is not the bravest haha

We took the dogs to see Santa last weekend. As soon as he came out, my Golden got pretty excited and was quite pleased to make a new friend! My Border was a little hesitant at first but didn't bark or anything - I think she was just curious of his funny clothes and beard

Here's some photos, just off the iPhone.

All 4 of my guys love Santa, we have a party every year and one of the guys dresses up as Santa gives the dogs presents and they get on his knee for a photo, they love it! Our annual Christmas dog party is this Sunday, I can't wait!

Dogs are soooo wise.

Most sensible dogs wont like being anywhere near the old red coated bewhiskered fat man.

Santa is for CHILDREN and even then many Santas manage to scare the bejesus out of little kids.

Souff

I was terrified of him when I was small. I used to hide under chairs and tables and scream blue murder :o

Mosley would LOVE Santa, he loves going to the vet for dogs sake

Lili, I wouldn't put her through it, I think she'd freak.

We did a santa photos fundraiser on the wknd for our rescue.

Loved seeing all the dogs reactions.

Most of the little dogs looks terrified but always sat still n posed properly. Some dogs were too hyperactive or excited to even notice him. Some were very fearful.

Every single Staffy LOVED Santa n jumped all over him.

I'll post some pics of my Staffy soon, she would just chill out with Santa everytime there was a break lol

haha, Chazer is not fussy, he goes to anyone for pats :) Most people think he is after food but what he really wants is pats.

Santa didn't do much talking otherwise the dogs might have relaxed a little bit - looks like it isn't rare for some dogs to be a bit scared, I was really surprised.

I think everyone should be scared of Santa, most kids and dogs seem to be. How often do you see a kid looking happy on his lap, most photos I've seen, the kids are screaming or crying in terror and dogs seem to be saying get me outta here with their eyes.
