Guest Posted December 5, 2011 Share Posted December 5, 2011 Any ideas on how to get chewing gum off my dogs pad? It is stuck on the pad and partly on her hair inbetween the pads. But maybe I can give this a go I think you need to try to remove it as well, rather then her just licking it off. I think it makes the gum stiffer and not so 'tacky' in substance. My dog has peanut butter on her foot and I now have 1 peanut butter footprint running through my house. :rofl: She is too stupid to realise where the smell is coming from..... It might still work, I have 2 other JRTs chasing her And yes, I am now going to have a peanut butter sandwich 'cause it smelt so nice. Thanks donatella and cavNrott. Appreciate your time & help. If I start putting eucalyptus oil on her foot I'll have 2 dogs chasing her and a koala..... If the peanut butter doesn't work I will certainly give the eucalyptus oil a go. Maddy Posted December 5, 2011 Share Posted December 5, 2011 Peanut butter works because of the oil in it. Probably easier to just use vegetable oil to loosen it up. Soak some cotton wool in oil and then use that to soak the gum and the surrounding fur. I wouldn't be putting eucalyptus oil anywhere that could be licked, by the way. It's toxic. When Pumpit's ready to sleep, she lets us play with her feet no problems. Anything else - no hope. I agree- Good in theory...... I told my OH I dipped Pumpit's foot in the jar.... i was tempted to leave a little footprint in it as a joke..
