Dogs Put Down as Laws Bite - Casey Weekly

Casey Council has put down four dogs in the first month of the state government's tougher regime on pit bull terriers. Under the laws, councils can seize and destroy unregistered pit bulls and their crosses on the basis of a visual identification guide. In the legislation's first month, the council received 56 reports of suspected restricted-breed dogs, 47 of them from the state government's Dangerous Dog Hotline. Of the resulting 32 inspections, four dogs were identified as restricted breeds. Their owners surrendered the dogs.

No mention that the "visual guide" is not Breed Specific.

No mention whether these dogs deserved the death penalty or not.

No mention of why the dogs were surrendered.
