OSoSwift
I use Arnica on myself all the time but have a Whippet with reasonable bruising on his front leg and chest/armpit. He has pink skin and a thin coat so it is fairly easy to see. I was wondering if anyone knew if I could Arnica ointment on it to help reduce the bruising/pain? I am worried it may be toxic if he tries to lick it off. He hit a wire fence at speed so even though he is no longer limping I am sure it must hurt! bianca.a
You can also give Arnica in pill form, I use it for me and the dog!
OSoSwift
I have the arnica pilules which I have used on the dogs for various speed + impact injuries and it has worked well. I have the Brauer ones available at pharmacies. I also have the ointment and as I can see where the bruising is I thought I may as well apply this topically as well if it causes no issues with being licked off. If I rub it in well it shoudl be okay. I also have been given some very useful links that I am reading as well - thank you
Boronia
mashed up parsley is excellent for bruises also, perhaps mix it with some other ointment like 'Rosa' brand Scarless Healer Cream so it will stick on.
