TerraNik
Seeing as 2012 is only a month away... What is everyone aiming for next year with their training? As usual I have a long list. I don't expect to achieve all of them next year, particularly with my new working hours (I might be lucky to get to a handful of trials!), but I may as well aim big. Jedi * CDX Title * RN Title * RA Title * AD Title * JDX Title * GD Title * SD Title * HT pass Ahsoka * CCD Title * CD Title * JD Title * AD Title * GD Title * RN Title * RA Title * HT pass * Neutered Champion Title Revan * CCD Title * RN Title * RA Title * HIC * HT Title * PT Title * FD Title * FDX Title * FDCh Title * ET Title Edited November 28, 2011 by TerraNik
RubyStar
Ruby - A UD pass :crossfingers: - RN title - JDM title - Be ADX ready at some point - SPD / SD / GD titles - Enter some retrieving trials and she brings me at least 1 bird back! Might have to save the QND title for another year, or a future dog! Millie - RN title - JDX title - ADX title - SPD / SD / GD titles - Be UD ready at some point All this is dependent on how many trials I actually make it to. I plan on focusing on the retrieving mainly during winter so might not make it to many obedience/agility trials. So those titles/passes are really stretching it! wuffles
CDX title Start UD by the end of the year ET RN - would like to say RA too but it depends on how many trials are actually held in Canberra JD, AD, GD, SPD - some X's would be nice too! That's a lot of titles! I'd also love to start some tracking work but that depends on time.
SmoothieGirl
Ok, well despite the fact I had a flat out year in 2011 with the dogs, I didn't meet all of my goals. Both dogs got herding titles, but we just didn't have time to fit in any obedience trials. But 2012 is a different year and we are set for success in other disciplines too (I hope). Bronte: - Gain her CD title. - Start training for her CDX. - Start training and maybe gain her Herding Started on ducks (she has her HSAs now). - Start tracking training for real - just started playing with it. Ren: - Gain his CCD. - Start training for his CD. - Gain his Pre-Trial Herding title (he has his Instinct Cert and HT now). - Maybe dabble in tracking training with him, time permitting. - If thats not enough, I also need to get more points for him in the conformation ring too. Seita
Well I have no idea really, I may not even make it into the ring next year LOL For Ella: - hopefully a litter of lovely promising pups for me to pick one out of - hopefully some trials towards the end of the year in both Open and UD with consistently good scores - continue improving in her agility training who knows we may even see the inside of an agility ring? - health and happiness in all I ask her to do! - I would love a 200 or two (or three or lots) but that will depend on whether we actually make it to any trials which depends on when and how the litter goes! Weasels
I'd be happy if both the dogs got their HSAs and HSAd titles (both have their PT) I'm considering trying out Fox for a JD too I'd never really considered trialling in agility before but she just loves it so much! Casima
Cool thread topic! Here are mine... Benny - now officially retired from agility. Train him in Tracking - this is hopefully going to be my retired agility dogs sport so they still feel special. Check out Rally - maybe another retired agility dog option for us. Raffy GDM SDM SPDM PT Anna JDM ADM GDX SD SPD ET Quinn Foundation training - to prepare for agility trialling in early 2013 Herding - starting early 2012 depending on his ability will see how we go. Best of luck to everyone in meeting their goals or having loads of fun trying, bring on 2012! Edited November 28, 2011 by Casima

Jetpoint GSP
Well i'm new to this area of the forum but 2012 it is. Like KathQ i'm aiming to keep the handler sound. This will be my first year doing obedience trials and i'm hoping that by the end of the year (if I can find somewhere to go and learn how) to do some agility too. Mia is already level 5 and her work is pretty good so i'm wanting to trial her and keep improving (myself as a handler more than anything!). I haven't worked out what all your letters mean yet!! I've only just gotten my head around the conformation showing side of things. I'll be starting Stella more formally in January and will work with her throughout the year to hopefully end up in level 5 with her so I can trial her too. Really i'd just like to work out what i'm supposed to do to trial the girls and not embarrass us in the process!
pie
I cannot WAIT to see what 2012 holds. I have a feeling it's going to be my busiest Crazy Dog Lady year yet What I am hoping for, well aware that I am aiming high for some of these but why not! KYZER JDM Quallies, ADX Title [should be doable - needs two more passes I think Start training more distance work and maybe directionals and try for JDO Qs, ADO Qs But ultimately this comes down to working on our bond / working relationship / and his attitude, I am seeing good improvement lately but we shall see in the new year. This is my biggest goal - to build his confidence and desire to work with me in the ring, that is the most important! In terms of training I would like to improve: Getting him to play with me more Getting him to read my body cues properly, not go where he feels like going Get him more relaxed / less nervous at trials Getting his contacts to improve - might even retrain them Get him more confident in places other than K9 TRIXIE JDX Title [should be doable] I babysat her through Novice Jumping and I am determined to take the training wheels off in Excellent and let her go go go and really push her and me to try and get the best runs we can AD Title [One pass to go], ADX Title [should be doable also - in theory] GD Title [two passes to go], Give SD a go and also maybe SPD Start working on distance and try for JDO Title, ADO title, should be a bit difficult for the velcro baby dog Hopefully take her to Agility Nationals and have fun with her if nothing else RN title If we get enough Rally trials in Perth? And if I train the stations ET title - aiming for September but life may get in the way as per usual Continue nurturing our awesome relationship to get the best out of her and I - this is the biggest one - don't let my girlie down! In terms of training I would like to improve: Her weavers - hopefully she will sort out her footwork and speed up Increasing distance and perhaps some directionals, get her to turn away from me increase her speed going into tunnels, and onto contacts Getting her to play with me at training and trials more Get her confident in places other than K9 - maybe join ADAA to help with this ME Improve my handling of course Make the most of every moment working with my dogs Keep it light and fun and don't forget to play Build confidence in handling the higher classes Edited December 13, 2011 by amypie
J...
Mine are pretty simple - that my dogs have a healthy and happy 2012 :D As for training goals Darcy: * Keep up her awesome jumping work in Masters :D * Retrain her into a running A-frame over Summer. * Fix her sh*tty dog walk contacts Zee: * Continue to build her confidence in the ring with plenty of fast and fun. * Put her back through 2 x 2 training this summer. * Having her well and truly ready to go into JDM (she's just got her JDX but is not ready for Masters).
