leopuppy04
Can dogs eat the whole thing with a cow hoof?! I gave my dogs one each for the first time on Tuesday night and I have to say that it's the first time ever that ALL three dogs have left a remnant behind when I've given them something chewable. Especially Leo. If I give him something he will only leave what is impossible to chew through/ digest, and yet he too has part left over. I've given the girls a cow hoof during the day and while chewed it's still not finished or does it look like much more progress has been made. But when I gave some to Leo again tonight, he got stuck right into it again which makes me think maybe it's not 'finished' yet!??!!? If they CAN eat the whole thing then WOW - I am VERY impressed! becks
They could eat the whole thing but I take them off the dogs when they get small or they can get stuck between the teeth on the roof of the mouth, they could also be a choking hazard. Pretty Miss Emma
They definitely can eat the whole thing! Kenzie usually chews on hers every 2nd day or so for a week til it's gone!
BJean
Can dogs eat the whole thing with a cow hoof?! They can eat the whole thing - including the leg. One of my dogs brought home a cow leg - I had a coronary but then realised one of the neighbours must have slaughtered some cattle and a leg or two fell off the truck. In any case, my dogs retrieved it and then ate it. yew! but I guess they thought it was yummy :D

sandgrubber
My dogs (Labradors) puke a lot after a ferrier has trimmed horse hooves. I don't see that it does much harm to the dogs, but can be a bit disgusting when they puke on the carpet or bedspread. I'd guess the same applies to cow hoofs.
