Boronia
A friend sent me this, A DOG'S SEEING EYE DOG Lily is a Great Dane that has been blind since a bizarre medical condition required that she have both eyes removed. For the last 5 years, Maddison, another Great Dane, has been her sight. The two are, of course, inseparable.

Tassie
How lovley is that. Years ago someone I knew had a GR who had gone blind, and another of her GRs took on the role of guide dog. It was just wonderful to watch.
Kirislin
a bit more about these 2. It seems they were in a shelter but it looks like it's got a happy ending. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2055471/A-new-home-blind-Great-Dane-devoted-guide-dog.html

Crazy Daisy
My Grandma had two mini poodles and when one lost her sight she would put her head on the males back and he would walk her around. It was so adorable to watch. Animals are incredible.
Blackdogs
That's very sweet. I wonder if the blind dog is the product of double merle mating.

Boronia
That's very sweet. I wonder if the blind dog is the product of double merle mating. Kirislin's link mentioned that the eyelashes had grown into the eye. Poor dear dog.
Greytmate
That's very sweet. I wonder if the blind dog is the product of double merle mating. Kirislin's link mentioned that the eyelashes had grown into the eye. Poor dear dog. I wondered whether it was double merle breeding as well. I am not surprised that there would be serious eye problems with a dog with that extent of white. Not much pigment in that dog at all. Very sad.
