quangle
Hi everyone, We have taken the advice on here and decided to let our pup have a season to see it it helps with her inverted vulva. Well, she is 8 1/2 months and it looks like it is time. There is a bit of bloody discharge, I have had to wipe drops off the floor a few times today. Does anyone have any tips to help get us through the next couple of weeks? Thanks
persephone
keep her behind VERY high fences and under lock & key. literally. If you walk her .. take her in a car to a beach or somewhere ..so dogs cannot follow a trail to your door. Some dogs (and bitches) will go to all sorts of lengths to mate ... make sure she is confined well when you aren't around.
quangle
She is a mostly indoor dog (Springer Spaniel by the way) so I guess she will need to be a 100% indoor dog for a bit. I am a bit worried about the mess though. Does the discharge get worse? I am already getting used to watching where I walk. Thank goodness we have mostly tiles and floor boards. GoldenWei
After not having an entire bitch for YEARS.... when my wei first came into season it was a bit of a shock at how much blood there was.... it will get worse before it gets better unfortunately. Hopefully her season won't be that long.... with Willow, she bled for a good 3 weeks.
Janba
Bitches Britches. They are pants you put on the bitch that have a slot for a sanitary napkin. They don't stop the necessity for vigilance in making sure that she cannot escape or the a dog can get to her but they do help with the blood spots and the cleaning. As Persephone said a bitch can be as bad as a dog in trying to mate so be careful and supervise her at all times or have her locked inside or in an escape proof run with a roof. becks
She will bleed for a couple of weeks, then she will be at her most fertile, so don't think the season has finished until her vulva has become smaller again and there is no discharge.
