Guest donatella
they get along so well and she constantly looks out for her when I'm at work, feeds her, brushes her and is like a second mum. Such a weight off my shoulders Does your partner, flatmate, friend have a good relationship with your dog? For me I could never live with someone who doesn't love dogs, so I am very lucky. Pretty Miss Emma
My previous housemate did! She was ace. When I had to have Emma put to sleep she was the second person I let know (after my Mum), she was Em's second mum! She always looked after my fur-kids when I wasn't home and would take Emma to the beach and pretty much everywhere that she went when I was on holidays and the like. She's been overseas since last October and I keep trying to entice her to come back to Aus!! She will eventually, she's a yank who can't stand Americans  Agree - if you're going to live in my house - you MUST love dogs!!
RiverStar-Aura
I still live with my folks and 4 brothers so there's always someone home to keep an eye on my bubbas when I'm at work. I love that they stepped in to help out with Kirah's lunch as I'd be at work and to supervise play time so Zeus didn't hurt her with his boisterousness. If I ever fall into the position of share renting, it would have to be with people who love dogs as much as I do. There'd be no compromise on that. minimiss
I had a pure white fluffy kitten when I was 18 and I had a 'friend' move in with me. I'd come home from work one evening and the bitch had dyed my poor kitten pink. Was not impressed as the kitten ran away, so it was clearly not impressed either. I kicked out the 'friend' and I've never had housemates since (or pets for that matter!). Lucky enough the boyfriend loves animals (as much as he pretends he doesn't ) So I'll be able to trust him with the new puppy! .. Trust him, pfft he'll probably be besties with the puppy and they'll plot against me

WreckitWhippet
I've got like 15 here at the moment and he's great with them. It's taken a while to get him up to speed on the feeding and routine but he's there now and I can go away for a weekendand he can keep the race dogs fed and fit and the rest of the team all in one piece. lilmisssascha83
Yep my previous housemate is GREAT with my animals. I don't usually just trust them with anyone but I trust her. Sasha gets soo excited when she sees her and my kitty headbutts her ( which is unusual for my kitty to do to anyone but me) My housemate looked after my pets when I had to go away and is fabulous with them. They are her pets when she is in Australia. :-)Saw her today for the pets party and Sasha was just soo excited.
Flick_Mac
My current housemate is great with my boys... he loves them and lets them inside when I'm working long days (he's often home during the day) and will feed them for me and look after them at night. He's even semi-trained a couple of tricks which he's very proud of. He's currently puppy-sitting while I"m at a friends place overnight studying for exams. My other housemate wasn't keen on the dogs, but told me one day (about 3 months after moving in) "Flick, I want to hate your dogs but I don't" which I thought was a pretty good start! They still don't go into his room, and he's not as good as my other one but will still help me out if I need to.

ktig
I'm pretty lucky too - My housemate is awesome with my pup. Feeds him when I'm not home and will take him for a walk or a run if he's racing round the house like a loon. He's not allowed upstairs, which is where her bedroom and bathroom are, but she has no problem with him having free run in all the living areas downstairs. To the point that I often arrive home to find the pair of them sharing the couch and a blanket watching tv.

Although I've never understood how people can't love dogs -- fair enough if there's been a bad experience, but to just not like them? And it's funny that he'd go for another CS; they don't really ooze the "mucho" status! But they are very cool dogs -- I love their topknots! I had a pure white fluffy kitten when I was 18 and I had a 'friend' move in with me. I'd come home from work one evening and the bitch had dyed my poor kitten pink. What on Earth would've possessed her to dye your kitten pink? The poor thing must've been terrified from the experience as I'd imagine it would've involved being bathed. I hope it scratched the s*** out of her. What an absolute jerk of a housemate and a very pathetic "friend".

What an absolute jerk of a housemate and a very pathetic "friend". It did scratch her, Thankfully. Her hands / arms were cut up, and my bath was stained pink so I assume she gave her a pink bath. I've never been one to yell, or start a fight with someone, but boy did I. Karma though, she ended up and a stripper a few years later, and from what I'm told still is It's so nice to hear all these lovely stories of caring housemates and partners. It's good to know a vast majority of people have good souls! Just the odd few who are a**holes..

Alkhe
I've got one great housemate and one blah one - once I came home to find half a block of mauled chocolate on the floor. I started panicking and trying to work out how much Maggie had eaten, and he came out of his room and went "oh, Maggie has been eating your chocolate". UMMM, perhaps it would've been good to STOP her?? My boyfriend used to be scared of dogs, but he's a changed man now. Or he wouldn't be around still! He actually made a special flannelette blanket pouch bed for her, with his mum's sewing machine! Edited November 13, 2011 by Alkhe

Red Fox
Ugh, I wish. I was up by 6:30am, took puppy out for some tracking training, came home fed her, told hubby to LET HER OUT FOR A PEE before her left for work, put her in the pen, took my older dog out for a walk and some training, came home, pup has peed in her pen because someone 'forgot' to take her out. Crate older dog, mop up pee, take miss energiser out for some more training and socialisation, detour to pick up sick kid from school... Finally, two tired dogs, sick kid on the couch and I get to eat breakfast at 10:30am  Now I may even get to sit down for an hour before it starts all over again! I guess you never have to go to the gym with that routine! I just double mopped my floors, i still can't get them shiney argh! little paw prints too and "bark at the mop" game that happens everytime It's so hot up here today, I think I might take pooch for her first beach experience.
