Hi everyone i'm buying purebred amstaff from a breeder soon he will be coming home on december the 4th he will be 8 weeks of age. he will be going to the vet for his second vaccination at 12 weeks old.

I saw some people say on the internet you shouldn't let your pup walk into the vet because it is dangerous

soo.. would it be okay if i bring my puppy in a cardboard box on the day i bring him into the vet ???

Please help, Thank you Vtecz.

Our staffy (not amstaff) just finished his last vaccination at 14 weeks. We have carried him in each time. I am only tiny (5 foot and 50 kilo) and I can manage to carry him just fine - he is 10kg.

PS love the name V-Tec Yo ;)

Unless you plan on sterilizing your shoes and clothes every time you come back in to the house I think it's an over reaction to do more than carrying the pup in at 12 weeks and not letting him meet any dogs in the waiting room. At 16 weeks he should have already been out and socialising for a month so a vet visit is nothing (and you might want to ask your vet about alternative vaccine protocols). Phone the vet before your appointment and ask them if they have had parvo cases in the clinic - if they have then as someone else said it's more important to carry him in the CAR PARK than in the clinic.
