Petzlife Oral Gel

Has anyone used this product? I gave some to my 45kg Dobe yesterday and about 1/2 hr later he became very distressed, breathing rapidly, unable to settle. It took hours for him to get back to normal and in the meantime I just had to sooth him. I was very worried and can only presume he was allergic to one of the ingredients???

I am thinking of trying this product - it is for sale at the groomers. Just wondering how effective it is??

Thanks Ron, he is back to normal now.

I was not expecting such a strong reaction to a seemingly harmless product which only goes to show that not all dogs can take 'natural' ingredients and can have allergic reactions just like we do.

I gave it to one of my other dogs and there was no problem.

One of my clients used it and the dogs gums were 'burnt'. Very red, inflamed and sore.

Thats interesting. I didn't try to brush my boys teeth, just gave it to him as per instructions.

Clyde may be your client brushed as well??

Update on this product.

Apparently it has happened before. Seller contacted manufacturer 3 times on my behalf and 3 times they told him they would contact me immediately.

Guess what - I never received any response from the manufacturer at all!!

Obviously there is something in the product that can cause a severe allergic reaction.

I do hope that it doesn't end up causing the death of an animal!
