New To Showing In Australia

I have a new border collie pup, and am looking for someone that is perhaps on the Gold Coast that could give me some help with finding some shows to attend with her. I have shown horses in the past, and done some show work in the UK over 10 years ago. She will not be 3 months old until mid November, so was hoping to go to a show or two in maybe Dec/Jan/Feb.

Join Dogs Queensland (which you have to do to show anyway) and you will get a magazine every month with all the schedules in it.

You can see the show schedules on the Dogs Queensland website too

You could also become an associate member of Dogs NSW and get their magazine for all the Northern NSW shows since they're probably closer to you than most Qld shows OR there is a website where most of the Northern NSW show schedules get put up - can't remember the address off hand but no doubt someone will have the link (or just google Dogs NSW and search for Northern NSW on their website)

Don't forget you have be a member of your states controlling body to be able to show.

Queensland membership for 2012 starts from the first of Jan 2012.

Is the puppy registerd on the Main Register of Dogs Queensland (or another state association)? If not you cannot show her. If your pup is on the Main Register in another state you have 3 months to transfer her rego to DQ or you cannot show her.
