What Is D O L To You?

This is certainly not a comprehensive list of questions, I know. ..and we only have 3 questions , or there would have been one on rescue ;)

I was just wondering , though of the reasons for using D O L ...and not just the forums .

I mainly use it for it's forums as I find them both educational & entertaining.....when OH says to me...."You on that computer again?" I answer "I'm studying" :D I do sometimes look at the breeder pages & I have a DOL Website.

I put 'don't have a dog at the moment', but I am slowly stealing stepson's cocker spaniel so need a 'nearly own a dog' option

Dol is better than Google. I come here to learn nearly everything.

You also need to add the following options: :D

- as a huge source of entertainment

- a fantastic way to procrastinate when uni work or house work or paid work should be done

- a great escape when requiring those mental health moments, thanks to general and OT

I use DOL because when I was looking for help to find the perfect breed for my family, I was sent a link for here. I have been here for a while now.

I use it to chat to other Pug owners and breeders. I get an enormous amount of help with any problems I have had with things like training, feeding, health, etc.

I use the forums a lot, but mostly its the Breed section I go into. I did research the breed I was after, the breeders in my area and interstate, and also all the info I could find.

This place is an unbelievable wealth of information for any dog owner. I come in every day.

My thoughts exactly. If you have a question, someone on DOL is bound to know the answer (plus the 20 or so replies you'll get from people who DON'T know, or people who didn't bother to read your opening post )

My dog Tyson came from the rescue section of DOL. :D

I came on originally asking for advice on what breed would suit me, someone suggested Tyson to me as he fit all my requirements, and the rest is history.

I guess I stick around now for the entertainment value, reading interesting discussions, expanding my knowledge etc. It's also nice to be able to relate with other crazy animal lovers like myself, all my friends tend think i'm a bit nuts in that aspect.

I ticked that (along with some other options) because half the time I just browse around reading and clicking at random, when I should really be studying

And a lot of the time even if you do google a dog problem, DOL is the first result anyway
