**Super_Dogs** Posted October 18, 2011 Share Posted October 18, 2011 (edited) I am having problems with a little piggy labrador who is making herself sick becasue she eats way too quickly. I have been using a few different slow down bowls but wondered is anyone has found any to work better than others. The problem I have found is the food on top if easy to get to so she gulps this up quicky therefore not solving the problem. Here are the pictures of the bowls I have tried using. I have one of those for my hoover GSP in the jumbo size which holds 1.5L and even with four cups of kibble it doesn't get above the extra protuding side bits. Like feed half a cup of dry, let the dog eat, make dog sit and wait while you put the rest or another half a cup, then let dog eat and so on? Pockets Posted October 18, 2011 Share Posted October 18, 2011 Reject Shop have them for $5, I brought a bulk lot of them They look like this and are fantastic quality I dont like the idea of adding too much water, if so make sure its completely soaked into the dry before feeding, water allows the dog to gulp easier and swallow without chewing, which can cause bloat quite easily Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

emgem Posted October 18, 2011 Share Posted October 18, 2011 I feed my pig of a Wheaten his kibble in various treat dispensing toys: I think we have half a dozen different types. You do have to supervise to make sure they don't eat the toy particularly in the beginning but I just feed him in the kitchen as I am cooking for myself. Yes that was the biggest side, it slows them down, the moulded nobs are not as tall, however it still does the job Mine too get their dry food soaked with hot water, but I let it soak for a good 15 minutes and drain any excess water prior to feeding. (also in saying I soak there dry food, I do not soak by covereing the biscuit in water completely, as I think it is important for does to have to chew on something and not just eat mush . I find the blue one I have really effective, but you can never have too many can you? Especially if they're cheap :D Now I just need an 'eat faster' bowl for Rogan....
