Mason_Gibbs Posted October 15, 2011 Share Posted October 15, 2011 My 14 week old pup started making this weird choking / coughing noise, does it when he first wakes up, maybe 2x a day for the last 3 days. He had kennel cough at 5 weeks so i dont think its that and he is acting normally, still running around like a hoon etc. Any ideas? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Ii guess it has to start somewhere?Mornings is often the time for coughing .. as the body starts operating at a faster speed than when asleep If there is some sort of airway/lung infection, then mucus will gather during the night, and need to be expelled in the morning, when there is more for the respiratory system to do. as I said- if it continues, see the vet ... Mason_Gibbs Posted October 16, 2011 Author Share Posted October 16, 2011 When he coughs /chokes its a very dry sort of noise, this puppy of mine is a chronic stick/leaf eater too so i tend to think small pieces of something he eats get stuck in his throat and make him cough.
