kelpiechick
Just had an email from another list. Big loss to the kelpie breed, I believe he was also responsible for a lot of the development of genetic testing used in BC's. Lost his battle with cancer in his late fifties and have heard that he was due to marry on Sunday. Very sad.
mita
That is so sad. He'll be a great loss to his family, friends and the kelpie breed.

Weasels
Thoughts are with his family and friends/coworkers. He was also probably the best friend dingoes will ever have.
Tassie
Oh, that is very sad news. The Border Collie breed certainly owes him a great debt for his work on genetic testing in ouir breed.
benshiva
It is a tremendous loss for us. He was instrumental in detecting the genes and creating the subsequent tests for both CL and TNS in our breed. So very very generous with his time and very giving of his knowledge. Always willing to explain things to anyone. RIP Alan, your loss will be greatly felt around the world. Thank you just doesn't seem enough for the wonderful gift of health you helped to give the breed we adore so much
