Squali
Squali is a 15 year old American Staffie who is continually hungry and is drinking double the amount of water she used to drink. Does anyone have any ideas why this is? Squali is also loosing her grip with her back legs, yes slip sliding away!
Mim
When appetite and/or weight are concerned, I'd get thyroid hormone levels checked. Excessive drinking..could be something to do with the kidneys or diabetes. I'd be going to the vet if I observed increased hunger and thirst in my dogs. Nekhbet
straight to the vet for blood tests and a thorough health check, then go from there, If you are worried about her back legs and the vet finds nothing try a canine chiro to see if she has any spine/muscle problems. Squali
Squali visited the vet, said it's either Cancer or a metabolic problem, either way 15 years is old. Could have blood tests but they would continue until the problem is found. Been advised to give her pain killers and lots of love, sounds good to me. Thanks for your help. Nekhbet
conversely without a blood test they could be making an assumption when in fact there is a simpler explination. I dont take 'educated guesses' with my animals ;)
