Kirislin
Taken at the end of the Healesville straight. Who let the dogs out!!!! Bet you've never seen a field of 16 before. the new lure driver was pulling up too soon and the dogs were slowing and getting out before the gates shut. Kirislin
thanks for looking. Here's a couple more, the blue dog in the red vest ran last and see his eyes jammed shut. I am guessing that's because he would have been copping a face full of sand, you can see another black dog behind the yellow vest, he too was at the back of the field and also has his eyes closed. It must hurt like hell. these dog were pulling up way too soon because the lure driver was slowing the lure too soon. The orange fluffy in the foreground is an old lure that they chuck to get the dogs attention and give them something to direct their excitement to. Swizzlestick
Fantastic photos. Having so much sand in their eyes must be so painful! And, how dare you try and trick me into thinking there were really 16 dogs in that first photo.

Wow it looks so different now the surface has changed! Grass never hurt the eyes.... That's what I thought too. Sad to see the grass go. Yep I hated to see the grass go. It was purely to do with $$. They hope to be able to race all year round now, although I'll believe that when I see it. I wouldn't be surprised if they still have to cancel due to weather. I still maintain if they'd ripped up the grass and then re did it with proper layers designed to enable run off and drainage and replanted it with better grass it would have stood up to winter racing. There really were 16 dogs running roolly troolly Edited October 11, 2011 by Kirislin
