Stolzseinrotts
Hi I would like to draw on the vast experience / knowledge of DOL. Looking for a Vet who can do a 2 hour or so turn around for progesterone levels located near Devon Meadows. In other words looking for a vet with their own machine to give the results not one who has to send it out for results. Thank you and look forward to your help. Stolzseinrotts
Yes I know Craigeburn does as that is my Vet for repro stuff, am asking for a freind on the other side of town. The nearest I can find to her would be Sandown, I thought somebody may know of one a bit closer to her?
MissMaddy
What about woofpurnay? I don't know if they have their own machine, but given the size of the practice they'd be worth a try. Otherwise Monash vet you can drop it to the lab yourself and get results pretty quick (well you could when I went there a while ago).

SwaY
You are better off using a large company to do progesterone testing as the machines are all calibrated the same, and on a regular basis. Not all machines are calibrated the same - what might be a 15 on one, may be a 25 on another machine. I know of a few people who have had bitches miss as they used a few different vets for prog testing.
Stolzseinrotts
I hear you Sway I hear you and know of others who have used different Vets through the whole process and missed. I know all machines are not the same and that is why consistency is needed. I hear of people talking numbers for levels and that is great but as we know those levels can all be different due to different calibrations on different machines. As long as the Vet knows his / her machine and it is consistent that is all that really matters, if he / she says the time is right now / tomorrow that is all that matters and hopefully a resulting litter follows. Thank you all for your help it has been worked out which Vet to use. Edited October 4, 2011 by Stolzseinrotts
goldielover
I'm in Narre warren South and did a bit of a ring around the area earlier in the year when my girl was in season. I couldn't find anyone that could even guarantee me same day results so ended up going to Monash.
SilverHaze
Did you get an answer to a closer vet to use? We have had prog tests done at both woofpurnay and monash - but a quicker turn around time would be fantastic. Last time we did prog tests at monash it was an absolute nightmare - and the turn around time, even dropping off the blood ourselves was much too long by the time monash acted on the results. Stolzseinrotts
The vet who I have found for my friend is Sandown Vet Clinic. After inquiring yestrday you don't need an appointment for bloods, any Vet nurse can do the draw for you and they will have the results to you within 2 hours........they are also Repro Specialists and do a lot of Greyhound frozen AI's. Their prices are very reasonable! If I was on that side of town that is who I would be using. That is where Hamish used to go when he was with his previous home, I keep hearing lots of good things about them.
SwaY
I hear you Sway I hear you and know of others who have used different Vets through the whole process and missed. I don't get people swap vets during prog testing, it's far to important to be chopping and changing. 1st test done at vet A 2nd at vet B 3rd back to vet A and so on.. That's when all the drama's happen as each machine is calibrated differently.
