Mason_Gibbs
My 12 week old puppy is chewing everything at the moment, a lot of his toys are too soft and he is chewing pieces off of these. What toys are great for teething puppies? I see there are nylabone fish toys and nylabone teething keys but they are around $20 each

Mason_Gibbs
Yup i did that fOr Mason but Gibbs has a broken canine atm so not wanting something too too hard on the teeth until that 1 falls out. We were at the emergency vets friday at 1am due to trauma in his mouth - he had chewed something, broken tooth and caused huge inflammation
suziwong66
since beginning teething Wilbur has really taken to his Polly Pig from Tuffy. That poor pig has taken some serious chewing over the last week or so and has stood up to the abuse really well The other thing he's really enjoying is frozen chicken necks. I freeze 3-4 in a lump and as well as slowing his feeding down (slightly) they cool his gums. He's not liking his Nyla bones so much of late, but has been chewing on his rubber bone on and off which i'm assuming is giving him some relief. He's lost two top milk teeth and looks like a junior primary school kid atm

suziwong66
Aww does he have teething breathe yet Suzie?? not yet, but i'm sure it's coming it's been interesting to watch the change in his behaviour since he's started losing teeth though...he was getting better at mouthing but suddenly he's having real trouble regulating himself to not chew on hands We're back to stuffing any of his toys in his mouth as soon as he opens it near us
Elise+Hudson
I hadn't noticed too much of a change with Hudson, until I opened his mouth this weekend at the show and noticed the first 4 incisors were gone + his back molars are starting to come through. :D He has started wanting to chew on my hands again, and had been very good up until now. I am glad he is still being very good for the judges to look in his mouth!
Talien
How do you know, if you get them, what "strength" nylabone to get?
The Spotted Devil
Many things in our recycling bin had a half day with the puppy before heading permanently out the door....cardboard boxes, paper, plastic milk bottles etc. Cheap and cheerful - makes a hell of a mess but it was better than her entertaining herself on the furniture :D Add chicken frames, lamb necks and stuffed Kongs to the mix and she was a breeze. ness
Kenz still loves plastic bottles especially when I haven't taken any toys to the park because she is suppose to be resting and on fetching and then we get to the school oval and without fail I'll end up with one turfed in my lap before long. suziwong66
If you go into the members marketplace Frenzied1 is selling Tuffies toys really cheap! i saw those posts and thought 'yay' i'll get some. then i talked myself out since polly pig is really standing up to Wilbur's onslaught and he really does have a lot of toys. knowing my lack of resolve i'll end up caving and getting some more Tuffies
aussielover
Another for cardboard boxes and plastic bottles. Frozen puppy kongs are good too. The tuffies toys look great but are expensive. Mindy was never much of a chewer- she prefers to carry stuff around in her mouth without actually chewing it up thank goodness! I still have most of her original puppy toys. she doesn't chew shoes- with the exception of Rubi shoes (a brand of shoe) she loves chewing them and has destroyed 3 pairs of mine Lucky they are cheap!
