Bullbreedlover
The ruling if there is one may depend in what state you live. In Qld it is that no bitch shall be on the grounds more than 7 weeks in whelp. And therein lies the problem with having differing rules and regs of different states. SwaY
Victorian Ruling Working bitches in whelpThe management committee has completed its review of the existing regulations; it considered the additional recommendations from the Canine Health Committee regarding Working Bitches in Whelp, and also considered any revisions to the regulations now required. The management committee resolved to amend Regulation 3.3.9.1 to read: Regulation 3.3.9.1 “A bitch is prohibited from exhibition for the period four weeks after mating until 10 weeks after whelping, unless the bitch has veterinary clearance to do so, which must be produced on the day of exhibition/competition.” The Canine Health Committee has been asked to develop a pro-forma, to be placed on the website and in the Gazette, for members to ask their vet to complete. WreckitWhippet
I thought NSW was 6 weeks onwards. I haven't seen any changes and have always shown mine until 5 or so weeks
oakway
I thought that was the case, depends on what state you live in. I really have not taken much notice of a rule like this as I usually don't show in whelp bitches, but may often take them with me to a show. (not heavey in whelp) I just wish we had one set of rules that covered the whole of Aust.

Libertybrook
thanks for the replies guys, we were discussing this rule and other rules the other day, and we were not sure if or when NSW was going to follow DOGSVIC in changing the rules for showing bitches in whelp. it would be nice if all our states CC bodies could have the same rules and regs for everything, it would make life so much easier, and stop a lot of confusion, ;) when people and dogs travel interstate for shows and Royals/ specilaties :D
