Singleton Puppies And Cesaraians

My bitch was mated by her breeder, Xrayed at 59 days from memory, was told she was not pregnant.

She flew back to Perth, was shown (placing second at our state speciality) and then drove 750kms home. She had horrendous phantoms so the fact she had massive teats was not unusual. I did have a nagging voice but was told I was being neurotic - now I listen to that voice!

Day 63 from last mating she had a singlton puppy naturally while I was asleep, I discovered the puppy after hearing squeaking at 5.30 coming from her crate. Her coat tummy band was chewed but foam matress left intact. Puppy was very average size for a bigger litter.

To say I was horrified was an understatement. I was just very thankful she was okay, then had to get puppy raising gear and whelping box together quick smart!!
