Rainy
With all the hype and the laws that may or may not be coming in im thinking its time to get Diesel breed tested just incase. Iv been told the Bitza test is not very reliable so my question is, Where is the best place to get him DNA tested to prove breed? Thanks in advance
WreckitWhippet
Nope but you could always ask council to issue you with an NOI, then go off the the breed assessment at your expense. He looks more Kelpie than SBT anyway and he'll pass. From there his records will be marked as " whatever cross " and that cannot be challenged by council or others, under the current legisaltion. ETA: during the time between the issuing of the NOI and the passing of breed assessment, he would have to be kept as a resticted animal and that means muzzled and onleash at all times. Rainy
Cheers RSG I really thought there would be a test by now! Oh well, Do you think i should do it now before any new laws are passed or wait it out and see what happens?
WreckitWhippet
The way I look at it, is you are probably better off having cross bred listed on your chip papers, because once you've been through the process and have been tagged as whatever breed or cross, then if they amend the laws, you really are up poo creek. If I had a Pit Bull, I would certainly go down the road of BA and TT, because once you have that ID and TT, as something other than a Pit Bull or at least a cross, it cannot be challenged. I think a long as your dog is chipped and registered as something ( this applies to all dog owners ) and you abiding by the basics, then I think we all sit back and wait to become part of a class action. At this point in time they aren't picking on the SBT but if they do, there's enough of us about to sink their battle ship.
