Heidii
what do you experienced people think about camping with a pregnant bitch? My girl is 5 weeks in and my partners first weekend off he wants to go camping up to the murray river. Is it ok to with bring her with us or best to leave her home and get my parents to feed her? Its only for 1 night. I rang monash vet who said it would be OK given that she doesn't get stressed in the car, she does get very excited but not stressed as such... dunno what to do, but don't wanna ruin my partners weekend
Parkeyre
Given how much I know my girls would love it, I would take her camping. My dogs go pretty much everywhere with me. If she was further aling, I wouldn't go at all.
WreckitWhippet
I take mine everywhere with me, right up until the last week. They are just pregnant and should be able to do all of the normal things
Verhexen GSD
She will be fine. You know she'll love it! Will she be sharing your tent or will she have her own?
persephone
She's not ill - just pregnant
alpha bet
I've ridden horses up until about 3 weeks or so before they drop and back in the saddle when foals are a few weeks old. Mares were often in harness right up until foaling and I rode when I was pregnant until about a month before babies were born. The best thing a doctor said - being pregnant doesn't change things - do what you would normally do but be careful about activities your body isn't used to. I'm sure your dog wont find anything stressful camping that is any different to your normal life.
