Lens Question

Hey photo gurus..

Does anyone have a Canon EF 28-135mm f3.5-5.6 IS USM Lens?

Are they any good?

I'm looking at purchasing my Canon 7D today and you can get it in a bundle for just a little bit more.

Would it be worth it, as an all round lens?

I have been reading the reviews and they seem pretty positive, some saying there are better, but I am just curious to see if any here has one.

Cheers guys :)

ETA - if there is another good all round lens you can recommend that isn't going to break the bank that would also be awesome!

I currently have the two basic canon lens kit lenses & 50mm 1.8

It's a nice lens for the money. It is really hard to fault given how cheap it is and how well it works. It is also nice and small, and it is always handy to have a nice small lens with good focal range.

To sum it up IMO:-

Positives

- Awesome focal range

- Good IS

- Reasonably Sharp

- Awesome value

Negatives

- Strong barrel distortion at the short end.

- Strong vignetting when wide open.

- Poor flare control (you really need to buy the hood for it).
