Ellie
I think I'll always have Cockers (hopefully), but could see myself walking around the ring with a Cav if I can't run with a Cocker anymore :D
JulesP
Would be weird not to have a border collie but I've thought a sheltie might be the go as a retirement breed. Maybe a corgi.
montall
I've already got my old age dogs. Little couch potatoes that they are. :D
juice
Still a cattle and a BT, but no more dallys, far too much walking required A grey is on my list.
rastus_froggy
I want a bull mastiff and a great dane as my retirement dogs - weird I know, but for me retirement dogs mean dogs for when I am old and no longer able to do agility there for I will get the heavier set dogs that are less suited to agility when I retire! RiverStar-Aura
I'll always have an Aussie Terrier or two. They're so adaptive and will be quite happy to run amok or lounge around! :D

newfsie
newf's forever......we have had them for the last thirty years, can't see me changing by choice. But if I was unable to afford or have a large dog i would downsize to a black Cocker Spaniel

dancinbcs
Japanese Spitz. I have been looking at them for about 15-20 years and now I am suddenly down to just one Border Collie, the next one might just be a JS, sooner rather than later. sandgrubber
Boston. Now that I live in the US and they're reasonably available, including some breeders who breed for health. I think it's better not to have dogs that you can't lift. Hope I can lift a Lab into my 70's, but I don't count on 80.
littlesquashyguys
5 Pugs, 5 Labs and 2 horses - heaven! ETA: Actually, just 5 Lab and 2 horses. I felt obligated to say Pugs because I own one, but Labs will always be my favourite breed. And I don't believe in slowing down, getting old or even retiring. RubyStar
I want a bull mastiff and a great dane as my retirement dogs - weird I know, but for me retirement dogs mean dogs for when I am old and no longer able to do agility there for I will get the heavier set dogs that are less suited to agility when I retire! I think of retirement breeds too as dogs for when/if I've decided I no longer want to train for competition obedience Hence the English Setter. I'm also hoping retirement age means I might be fortunate enough to own a few different breeds as I'd like to try so many! I can't see me going into a retirement home as I will always need a yard for my Labs! Besides the grooming, a mini schnauzer would be a good retirement breed. My parents just got one. Just need to get through that puppyhood, she's damn feisty!
Finnesse
I already have little old lady dogs. Pap. I am thinking a papillon for my retirement dog, just don't want to trip over it
