WreckitWhippet
Spay and castration/neutered respectively or if you are just talking about a dog in general, then desexed.

minxy
The only people I ever have this conversation with aren't particularly 'doggy' people, so specifics aren't really necessary. For this reason I will usually just say desex for both dogs and bitches.
HazyWal
Desex in both.
mirawee
Either desex or neuter for either sex or spey for bitch and castrate for dog. If any of the terms above were used I would know what they are talking about though
persephone
I just find it interesting - some folks are a bit uneasy when castration etc is mentioned .. some just use 'neuter' ..some use the full terminology ...
OSoSwift
When I worked at the vet hospital most men said they either needed their pockets picked, or were going to go home two stone lighter. IF you so oh so a castration then the visibly cringed. Most women asked for a hysterectomy for their bitches, men asked for them to be sterilised. To me neuter seems to be more american and I have never used it. My brother always called the douverless after they were castrated! W Sibs
Most of the time: female - spay male - desexed But, I do often say that Charlie has no balls and Emmy had a hysterectomy.
