Jodielass
I am a 1st time breeder. My Jodie gave birth to 10 healthy puppies last April. She delivered 8 on her own but needed a C Section for the remanding 2. She had 5 boys + 5 girls. 4 Black ,3 yellow,3 chocolate. All the puppies are now all happy in there new homes. In 2 years time i may want to breed with Jodie again but seeing she had a C section there is some doubt.I have spoken to my vet and was told that just because she had a C section once does not mean she will need it again What do you think? oakway
Your vet has told you the truth. Many bitches require a C section but go on to have further litters normally. Good luck with her next litter.
cowanbree
Any bitch that has had a c-section is at an increased risk of having another if she is bred again but I know many who have gone on to have normal litters. A lot depends why she had a c-section. A stuck puppy is unlikely to cause a c-section in future litters but if she had inertia that seems to get worse as they get older in my experience. Sandra777
Nope, 1 caesar doesn't mean it will happen again. But I do want to ask why you want to breed her a second time when out of 10 pups the first time you couldn't find a keeper? Sorry if you got unlucky with your pick (know how that can happen )
