is it possible to hear puppy heart beats inside the mum using a stethascope?

yep sure is :)

I have heard them in the last couple of weeks, pups do need to be relatively close to the outside tho.

Oh Yeah!!!

It is one of the most exciting times......my bitch whelped 7 and I heard 6......the beats are very different from mum.....ticka-ticka sound.

I heard my pup's heart beat when she was around 6-7 weeks in whelp I think, but wasn't easy to hear with digestive noises, etc. Would be easier with more than one though! Once he dropped down at around 8 weeks he was a lot easier to hear. I've got a good quality stethescope as I bought it for uni, and haven't used it for anything but my animals since graduating!

when can you start hearing their heartbeats? around what day?...and do you need a good quality stethoscope to hear?

From 7 weeks when they were bigger and movement in the bitch was obvious. I do have a proper medical stethoscope :)

You should hear them under and around the rear of the rib cage....on both sides....

I listened to mum's heartbeat to make certain I was not mistaken for her heartbeat or digestive echoes.....

The babies heartbeat is a rapid ticka ticka sound.
