staffylover
Hi guys, some of you may remember me from last year. I was the one who paid a ridiculous price for a "pure bred staffy" which ended up having health issues. (in a nutshell) Well, just wanted to let ya's know ,that i have become aware that this "breeder" has (against vetinary advice)bred with the "PUPPY" that we sent back to her- even tho she isn't even 1 year old yet! Just wondered if this was legal or not in QLD,as im pretty sure it's not allowed in SA!

huga
Bitches have to be 12 months. My advice is to put it all on a stat dec and send it into Dogs QLD (if she is actually registered).
staffylover
yes,i rang the CCCQ way back when i was still waiting for my "papers" to arrive, to check if she was even a registered breeder, and apparantly she is. even tho (at the time) she hadnt even registered my pups litter yet. according to CCCQ , u dont HAVE to register a litter straight away, and you can still claim they are registered with papers. This just doesnt make any sense to me. seems anyone can become a registered breeder, and can register any old dog as a pure breed :\
huga
QLD breeders have up to 12 months to register a litter. If no one complains, nothing can be done.

Did you get a full refund? Contact the CCCQ and ask them how to go about putting in a complaint - it will cost you $$$ though . Keep it well detailed especially any vet records that you had while the pup was with you and ask your vet if they could write a letter detailing the condition the pup was in and their recommendation that the pup never be used for breeding and anything in writing from the "breeder" stating that he/she was well aware of the condition that the pup was in. Good luck, it is breeders like them that make the rest look bad . Edited August 27, 2011 by Andisa

Yes, i am the one who paid a ridiculously high price for a puppy riddled with mange And yes, i fully intend to put in a complaint about her, but am still trying to take her to court, to get my money back. As it stands, she has both the dog AND my money. hopefully the courts make her pay me, for the sake of being fair! And yes, it's PEOPLE like HER that make other breeders look bad

And yes, it's PEOPLE like HER that make other breeders look bad I dont think the CCCQ are good on hearing complaints...friend of mine reported a lady for breeding with 2 dogs that produced a hip dysplasia puppy and got no where with them. The breeder has since mated the same dogs and produced a litter, oblivious to her responsibilities as a breeder and CCCQ member. So good luck with that staffylover. Dracdog
It depends on the breed as well, for some breeds i think the minimum age for breeding is around the 18 month mark
