:thumbsup: Yay for Meg and especially Tux! Was his the same routine you did in Ballarat - the tears to the eyes one? And Meg's owner must be thrilled to bits. :D

Yes it was the tears in the eyes one.. got them crying in the aisle again and even the judges was teary too.

For those who might be interested our HTM routine was done to We will meet again and the artist was Andre Rieu and his band.

Our Freestyle was John Farnham's Chain Reaction :) We did lose a point from two of the judges for Tux's vocalising that he was having a wow of a time. But I am willing to wear those points to see him work so happy :)

And yes Meg's Mum and Dad was ever so pleased with Meg's new title :)

And her music was The Little Drummer Boy Artist, The Red Hot Chilli Pipers

Well done Kallistar. Fantastic work and yep would love to see video if there is any.

We did end up doing our demo at the expo. Hmmmmm I would give her marks for enthusiasm but it was hard going. Floor was slippery and I had to baby her through it because of worrying about injuries - not the most enjoyable routine I have done with her.

Thanks Ness.

Do you have any video of your demo? Slippery floors are not good and I am glad that you got through it ok.

(wish that I could do the multi reply thing, but can't remember how)

Slippery floor, with a super feral dog = recipe for disaster especially considering all she has been through made worse by the most recent issue of a torn muscle in her right hind only diagnosed by the chiro vet on Friday .

Yep there is video - don't laugh to hard. I did learn the longer routines probably need a little more thought and I reached the limit on my ability to improvise a routine . It didn't help having to remove some of what I wanted to include a fairly significant slab of moves because she wasn't allowed to jump. Not sure she should have done all she did either mind you :o.

Still considering all the issues I use to have with shutting down and scary people she coped exceptionally well with the "crowds".

Gamby Baby gained his third HTM Novice pass and 3rd place at the DWDCV Trial on Sunday 22 Apr 2012. :cheer::thumbsup:

He gained another pass in the afternoon which the judges thought was better than the AM Trial. Go Gamby Baby. Now we need to get it together to be able to compete in Intermediate level. :crossfingers:

Seeing Linda & her Papillon intermediate level routine on Sunday made me wonder if I can ever make a routine that would come any where near it.

Linda and her dog fly around the dance floor making everyone smile seeing this little dog's legs going ten to the dozen.

Until I try I'll never know will I.

I have a brag to add in here as we gained not only our freestyle novice title but also gained first place twice in HTM novice with Tux. And drum roll please cause Meg gained her Freestyle starters title today. I am so proud of Meg and Tux. I would also like to thank DWDCofVic for a lovely trial today.

I'M SO GLAD I was there to see the routines that led to your success. Especially the look of wonder on your face as you slowly came to realise that Tix had done it.

I can't believe you went ahead and attempted to perform a 3 1/2 minute routine at a demo when your dog was diagnosed with a torn muscle only days before.

May I ask Why???

Well done everyone on your wins. Michelle's Wei Cooper got his final pass for Intermediate DWD yesterday in Sydney. I believe at 12 yrs old he will now retire. There were others who qualified but as I didn't mark the catalogue I can't remember who they are, sorry.

Because BC4ME I was told I could do no further damage. I specifically mentioned the demo and was told it should be ok. Her body is falling apart as it is and she enjoys it so I say why not. I wasn't told to rest her just not do any agility training with her (not that we have done a lot anyway). My bigger worry was still the shoulder and that is the one that bothered her the most but the specialist has also said what degree of soreness she has at the moment is what she will be left with.

And there were a number of jumping moves I removed from the routine because I was told not to let her jump.

I can either lock her away at home where she is just as likely to injure herself being a stupid twit or let her do things which she enjoys for as long as she can. I know which she would rather do.

So you were told you could do no further damage and that it should be ok? These 2 bolded segments contradict each other. She is either ok or she's not.

You said she was bothered by an ongoing shoulder injury with a degree of soreness, a torn muscle which was diagnosed only days before and you said her body is falling apart. I find it difficult to understand why you would want to put her through a long rechoreographed routine. If you were so hell bent on performing why didn't you just shorten the routine?

How would the general public percieve the sport then if she had broken down mid routine and had to be carried out of the ring.

One of the creeds in which the sport was based on "is the dog should never be put in harms way".

In my opinion performing with known injuries to the extent that you sas she has is putting your dog in harms way.

I know the sport of DWD is exciting and performing in front of large crowds is an adrenalin rush but honestly is it really worth putting your dogs health on the line?

Thanks Gamby, as you know Tux is no spring chicken in age (will be 12 in June), but you wouldn't of thought that the way he was bouncing around in freestlye. Now to try and think of more routines and music.

Ok a question,

Firstly, would love to change the topic now to DWD freestyle and HTM brags, ideas and other stuff, can it be done? Or would start a brand new topic thread be better?

Definately got my freestyle music which is a great start, but am

having trouble yet once more to find the right music for my next level of HTM. Why is it so hard?

Does any one have any DWD brags to put here, or suggestions?

Will start a new thread when I work out how to put the right title on..

So would Dancing With Dogs Freestyle and H.T.M, Ideas, Brags and Music be ok for everyone?

Or do you have any suggestions?

Also how bad would it be to use the same music for two levels? Meaning if you have music cut for say Intermediate, could you use that same peice of music for Advance?

And costumes, if you was doing say The Sound of Music what would you wear?
