cassie
Just looking for some clarification please. Moose is entered in the Adelaide Royal in the Baby Puppy Dog class, therefore we will be there on Sunday 4th Sept for Baby Puppies. How does this day work exactly? Do they judge each breed first, then judge the Best Baby Puppy of each Group, then the overall Best Baby Puppy In Show? OR...on this day is it only the Best BP of each breed that is decided, and then they all return for General Specials on Saturday 10th Sept? OR...something different again? Just need to work out which days I need off work, thanks!
Zensu
On the Sunday the classes are run like All Breeds sweepstakes. The steards are really great and organise everything so it all rins smoothly we'll be there!

cassie
Ok great so Best Baby Puppy In Show is judged on the Sunday and we don't need to return (if for example we got Best Baby Of Breed) for General Specials on the following Saturday. Someone shout out if I'm wrong! Otherwise thankyou
whiskedaway
There's no Baby of Breed in sweeps, all the different breeds go in together.
Sayly
Yeah, all babies go in together, and the judge awards 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th place once he/she has judged them all. I think bitches and dogs are seperate but I can't remember!
cassie
Ohhhhhhh! NOW I understand, thanks guys Wow the lineup must be massive then. And theoretically you could have say four of one breed in there, and they could take out 1st 2nd 3rd and 4th? (If they were the best pups on the day and all that...) cassie
Also what order do you go in the ring? Is it done alphabetically through all the breeds? (A-Z for all breeds) Or in groups? (A-Z for Group 1, then A-Z for Group 2, etc)
Rottshowgirl
Generally they will take a few groups in at a time (also alphabetically within group), make a shortlist, everyone leaves then they bring in next few groups etc. Once all groups have had a cut, all shortlisted puppies come back in togethr and placing are done then

Diesel's Mate
Every time I read about the Royal I get more Nervous! Thanks for all this info!!
cassie
Tell me about it! They were probally silly questions to people who've done it a hundred times before, but I had to ask. As a newbie it is quite daunting going to a normal show let alone the Royal!
Rottshowgirl
You wont be nervous afterwards, you'll be thinking 'That may have been the longest day of my entire life!' Moose will probably sleep for 3 days after he's been through a day at the Royal
