**Super_Dogs**
My 6 month old lab is not feeling well today. When I feed her this morning she did not seem very interested in her food. She still ate though (typical lab). About 15 minutes after eating she threw up her food. I was not concerned at this time as she has been know to vomit up her food. However another 15 latter she threw up on the couch and just now, so another 2 hours latter she was just sick again. Now I am not surprised she has an upset tummy as yesterday she and another dog got into the rubbish while I was at work and ate what they could - was mainly vegetable/fruit scraps. I know dogs vomit and I am never usually concerned, but I have never had a dog vomit this many times so close together. So when should I be concerned? Any suggestions I of what I can try to settle her tummy? I don't think it is related but another of my dogs has had diarrhea. It was bad yesterday (started before the got into the rubbish) but she is on the mend today. Thanks.
Kirislin
Perhaps she has a blockage from some of the rubbish she ate yesterday. Has she had a poo recently? I think a vet visit might be in order.
persephone
I second kirislin's advice.Vomiting and rubbish eating needs a good check by the vet . actually I posted on this... but it's gone ...... ?

**Super_Dogs**
Perhaps she has a blockage from some of the rubbish she ate yesterday. Has she had a poo recently? I think a vet visit might be in order. She has had several poos. I would defintly be concerned if she had not. So it has been nearly another 2 hours and she has not been sick again. So I am thinking this is a good sign. Still after any ideas to help her tummy to settle?
**Super_Dogs**
Just saw the other posts. Do you think that she has not been sick again and has been pooing we should still go to the vet for a check? I suppose maybe she has stopped being sick because there is not food left in her tummy?? persephone
It would be wise I think... just in case. .. Normally the treatment is to fast a dog with tummy upset for 24 hrs... then give a bland diet , like boiled chicken & rice ...
Kirislin
Offer her some food, if she doesn't eat it with her usual gusto, and doesn't keep it down she is still sick. If she was mine I'd take her to the vet.
**Super_Dogs**
Thanks everyone!! I just did a test - walked to where the dog food is kept and moved the bags around. She did not even bother to get up. he is normally standing at the food whenever I walk near it. So I am calling the vet now.

**Super_Dogs**
Just an update. The vet could not feel any obstruction and tighness, so that is good. He could tell her tummy was sore though as she was laying down and stretching out on the vet table. She is going to spend the rest of the day at the vet - just to be safe!! He has given her some tablets (an antibiotic and one to stop th vomitting) and is going to try feeding her latter this afternoon. He think she should be fine :D Will know for sure latter this afternoon.
Kirislin
aww poor little pup, I'm thinking her exploits of yesterday in the garbage have a lot to do with it. I hope she gets better soon, I think you did the right thing taking her to the vet.
