ezzag77
Hi, We have ourselve s a new MINI BULL TERRIER - Lance. His 10 weeks this sunday and we have had him since he turned 8 weeks. We are still feeding him the same amount that the breeder advised us to feed him at 8 weeks when he left her. How do we know when to give gim more? he's having a mxture of BARF and a ADVANCE puppy rehyratable dry food, 4 times a day. He hoovers it like nothing i have seen before. i dont think he even tastes it. he would probally eat till he was sick if we let him - his stomach probally takes a few minutes to register he's even easten its that quick. He never acts hungry when its not feed times and hes sleeping and growing well. I think since we got him he went from 3.5kg to 7kg. He does not look skinny or fat. **Super_Dogs**
I just judge by how my puppy looks. If she is looking alittle slim, I just up the food by 1/4 of a cup. If you increase the food as you pup is looking alittle overweight, just reduce the ammount back. Unfortunetly there is no science to it!
Sandra777
Did the breeder not include info on this in their diet sheet Usually by 10 weeks mine are eating quite a bit more than they are at 8 weeks and as they're about the same weight as your mini will be when full grown I would have thought the same would apply. Basically if he's well covered (no too hard to feel his ribs) and active and healthy he'll be getting about the right amount of food. Later on you want to be able to feel his ribs quite easily (but not see them) but IMO pups need to carry just a touch more weight.
