Buying A Crate And Show Trolley In Perth

Hi,

We are planning to move to Perth in a few months (from Sydney), and we are deciding whether it's worth shipping our 7 year old wire crates and show trolley to Perth, but the thing is our crates/trolley are a bit old and I think they have about 2-3 years left in them max, and shipping them to Perth costs money.......If we spend money to ship them, we might as well spend a bit more and get new ones.

I have seen decent new medium/large crates in Sydney for about $100 and 2 berth trolleys for about $300, can you get them for similar prices in Perth? Or am I better off getting them in Sydney and take them to Perth with me?

I thought about buying online and have them shipped directly to Perth, but I do prefer to see things before I buy (i.e in a shop), plus the ones I see on ebay /web are not based in WA and cost a fortune to send to WA. Where do people generally get their stuff in Perth and how much are they?

Thanks,

Jacky

I found show trolleys were expensive in Perth. I wanted a 4 berth and was looking at around $600 - $800 local. I ended up purchasing one in the eastern states and with shipping was about $450, so a lot cheaper.

As for the crates, I am not sure. Hopefully someone else can comment. I only have the PP20 crates (airline crates).

I occasionally see second hand trolleys and crates, but they are few and far between, and generally snapped up very quickly!

How much will shipping cost for the trolley and crates?

There is a show supply store at the canine grounds. The website is http://members.iinet.net.au/~wasps/

I can see there are some prices for crates (wire and soft) on there. These prices is what you will pay generally in Perth.

Thanks for the local insights, Dante!

Because we are not moving any furniture there, so the crates and trolley will prob go on the plane with us, I don't know the exact cost, but I just know that it's not gonna be cheap!

From what you've said, if we opt to get new ones, it does sound like we are better off getting them in Sydney and then bring them to Perth with us. But let's see if others have anything else to say.

Thanks,

Jacky
