SwaY
I have a person who would like to heart test there dog around the Biloela are in Qld, does anyone know a vet who will do an ECG? Ideally they would like a full heart screen ECG+Colour Doppler, but they need a referral to a specialist, however they can not get one as they do not have an issue with the heart - they just want it done before breeding etc.
espinay2
Can't their vet write a letter saying they are referring for 'pre-breeding testing'?
SwaY
Can't their vet write a letter saying they are referring for 'pre-breeding testing'? No, specialist will only see them if they have a suspected problem - like most specialists.
espinay2
Heart testing seems to be a big issue trying to get done. Wish they would establish a program for it like eyes and hips. It would make life SO much easier.
tashnchief
Biloela is kind of remote being a small mining town. Their best bet would be try a top notch large animal clinic in Rockhampton or alternatively contact a specialist centre in Brisbane. Dr Brad Gavaghan is a specialist cardiologist, he operates out of the Veterinary Specialist Services - Underwood, contact 07 3841 7011. He also visits other clinics and interstate clinics on certain days throughout the month.
