Ronda
Hi, I have a five month old whippet who i am feeding advance puppy dry food. For the most part I'm happy with the food, its just that his poo gets very sloppy sometimes. Is there anything i can add to his diet to stop the sloppy poo or should i try a different brand of food? tlc
It sounds like the food is not agreeing with your boy, if it was me I'd be swapping food to see if their is a change. When I have changed my guys diet I have done it over a period of about a week. Don't be scared to try different foods it will only benefit your dog in the long run once you find the right one. Are you also feeding bones or anything else?

Ronda
got him from a rescue group, they were feeding supercoat puppy. he gets the occasional bone and i mix a teaspoon or two of wet food into the dry food. On walks if he finds any food ppl have thrown on the ground he will have a go at eating it, I try my best to stop him. Should have seen how proud he looked when he found a dead bird and picked it up to bring it home with him

If you can't stop him, then muzzle him while out walking. My first BC when she was a pup had an attraction for cigarette butts, so I had to be watching her like a hawk. If my dogs stop to sniff while out walking, I will pull them away till I check out what they are sniffing. My new pup while off lead around the farm, has decided he likes kangaroo & cow poo, but I guess he is just getting a little more pre-digested protein & hopefully he will get sick of it.
